Job summary

The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is seeking a Senior Engineer, Noise and Vibration to lead measurement, analysis and mitigation for subway operations. This role reports to the Assistant Manager, Engineering Services and requires strong technical leadership in noise and vibration engineering within a transit context.

The incumbent will manage data collection, modelling, and public engagements, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with relevant standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with several years of engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (Ontario) registration required.
• Noise and vibration experience, preferably in railway environments.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and implement systems for measurement, monitoring, and analyses of noise/vibrations from subway operations.
• Lead noise and vibration initiatives including data collection, analysis, modelling, investigation and mitigation.
• Represent Track & Structures in public meetings and update on technical initiatives and progress.
• Provide technical expertise to identify root causes, develop cost-effective solutions, and support infrastructure design and maintenance decisions.
