Job summary

Randstad Canada in Vancouver is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a 6-month contract to design, deploy, and support enterprise networks across cloud and on-prem environments. You will lead SD-WAN, firewall, VPN deployments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet security and business requirements.

The role requires 8+ years in enterprise networking, strong scripting skills, and experience with SolarWinds/Splunk for observability.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.
  • Hands-on with SD-WAN (Cisco, Meraki); Cloud networking (Aviatrix, AWS, Azure); Network security (Palo Alto, Zscaler).
  • Proficient in routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, DNS/DHCP.
  • Automation and scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiar with ITSM tools (ServiceNow) and Agile/Lean methodologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions across cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Lead the deployment and configuration of SD-WAN, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network solutions align with business and security requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues and provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents.
  • Monitor network performance and implement improvements using observability tools.
  • Support Asset Protection Technology Infrastructure Operations (CCTV and Physical Access Control).
  • Automate network tasks and configurations using scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network architecture, configurations, standards, and procedures.
  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date and accessible to stakeholders; participate in on-call rotation and global operations.
