Job summary

STACK IT Recruitment is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to design, secure, and optimize enterprise networks for client environments in Windsor, Ontario. This onsite role emphasizes reliability, security, and performance across on‑premise and cloud platforms.

You will architect networks, mentor engineers, and collaborate with MSP teams, vendors, and clients to deliver scalable solutions while maintaining uptime.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in MSP, managed services, or IT consulting environments.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification is required; additional Cisco certs are a plus.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco, Fortinet, and Cisco Meraki.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and support complex enterprise networks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across Fortinet, Cisco, and Cisco Meraki environments.
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to MSP clients on network architecture and security.
  • Lead Azure networking initiatives, including VNets, VPN Gateway, NSGs, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Plan and execute network projects, migrations, upgrades across client environments.
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues and provide expert resolution.
  • Collaborate with clients to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Develop documentation, designs, and best-practice standards.

We’re looking for a technically skilled Senior Network Engineer to design, secure, and optimize the networks that keep modern businesses running smoothly.

Our client is a trusted IT solutions partner, helping organizations navigate digital transformation with a focus on reliability, security, and performance. They’re seeking a hands-on engineer who can architect robust network environments, troubleshoot complex challenges, and ensure seamless connectivity across on-premise and cloud platforms.

In this role, you’ll play a pivotal part in building resilient infrastructures that enable clients to scale confidently while maintaining high standards of uptime and security.

What You’ll Do
  • Design, implement, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across Fortinet, Cisco, and Cisco Meraki environments
  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to MSP clients, providing guidance on network architecture, security, and infrastructure strategy
  • Lead Azure networking initiatives, including VNets, VPN Gateway, NSGs, and hybrid connectivity
  • Plan and execute network implementations, migrations, upgrades, and optimization projects across multiple client environments
  • Troubleshoot complex networking and infrastructure issues and provide expert-level technical resolution
  • Work directly with clients to understand their technical requirements and translate them into practical, scalable solutions
  • Support pre-sales activities, including technical discovery, solution design, scoping, and client presentations
  • Develop network designs, implementation plans, technical documentation, and best-practice standards
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, vendors, leadership, and client stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes
  • Provide post-deployment support and ongoing technical guidance to ensure client environments remain secure, stable, and optimized
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and after-hours implementation windows when required
  • Share knowledge and mentor other engineers while contributing to continuous improvement across the team
What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or a similar technical role
  • Previous experience working within an MSP, managed services, or IT consulting environment
  • CCNA or CCNP certification required (additional Cisco certifications would be an asset)
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco networking, Fortinet, and Cisco Meraki
  • Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments across multiple clients
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, including VNets, VPN Gateway, NSGs, and hybrid connectivity
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex networking and infrastructure issues independently
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to act as a trusted technical advisor
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience developing technical documentation, network designs, implementation procedures, and best practices
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple client environments and competing priorities
  • Self-directed and comfortable working in a remote-first, client-facing environment

  • Fortinet certifications
  • Microsoft Azure networking certifications or hands-on experience designing Azure network architectures
  • Previous involvement in pre-sales engineering, solution architecture, or technical scoping
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or providing technical leadership within an MSP environment
