Job summary

Equitable seeks a Senior Technology Specialist, Core Systems Developer in Waterloo, ON to build and support cloud-based applications and integrations. You will partner with product teams to design API-driven solutions and drive production stability across Wealth systems.

The role requires 5+ years IT experience, deep .NET/C# expertise, and strong Azure Cloud skills. Hybrid in-office cadence includes 2 days/week in Waterloo and occasional additional days, with competitive benefits and total

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or related field
• 5+ years IT experience with multi-domain expertise
• Proficient in .NET/C#, with 5+ years
• Experience with Microservices architecture
• Experience with Cloud Native Architecture and Azure cloud
• Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines)
• 3+ years with Azure App Services, Functions, Service Bus, Storage; IaC (Bicep)
• Solid knowledge of SQL Server and T‑SQL with 6+ years
• Experience with testing frameworks (NUnit, MSTest)
• API lifecycle management: gateways, API catalog, CI/CD for deployment
• Design/document HTTP REST with JSON, JSON Schema, Swagger
• Extend core systems via APIs and vendor integrations
• Data modelling and integration layer understanding
• Experience leading other developers
• ORMs like Entity Framework are a plus

Responsibilities

• Build and support applications and integrations using Cloud technology
• Collaborate with product owners/managers to meet business needs
• Analyze production system problems and recommend solutions
• Investigate and solve production problems with minimal guidance
• Lead API domain identification and API lifecycle concepts
• Set up end-to-end processes, standards, governance in vendor platforms
• Promote Enterprise API Strategy and present to stakeholders
• Share knowledge and mentor colleagues to improve performance
