Job summary

TekRek in Toronto is hiring a mobile-focused engineer to own the native iOS and Android experience end to end, from feature development through release. This is a hands-on build role for someone who wants direct ownership of a live consumer product, is comfortable shipping fast, and doesn't mind stepping into backend, DevOps, or data work when a feature calls for it.

Strong candidates are equally comfortable in Swift or Kotlin and can operate independently across the release pipeline.

• Proven experience shipping native mobile apps, with deep expertise in either Swift/SwiftUI or Kotlin/Compose.
• Strong grasp of mobile architecture, state management, and performance profiling.
• Working knowledge of relational databases, schema design, and migrations.
• Some backend exposure; comfort picking up a modern server-side language is valued.

A Toronto-based consumer startup is scaling a live social platform where users engage with real-time debates across sports, entertainment, and culture. Since launch less than a year ago, the product has grown to hundreds of thousands of users and processed eight figures in transaction volume, driven almost entirely by organic social reach. The team is small, moves fast, and ships to a large live audience every week.

What You Will Do
