Job summary

A leading environmental consulting firm in Ontario seeks a Senior Mining Practitioner to lead environmental permitting and compliance for mining projects. This role involves managing multi-disciplinary teams, liaising with clients and regulators, and driving solutions for complex environmental challenges. Candidates should have a strong understanding of Ontario mining regulations, substantial experience in the sector, and be prepared for occasional travel. This is a full-time position that offers the flexibility to work remotely part of the week.

Qualifications

• Must have a strong understanding of the environmental aspects of the Ontario mining sector.
• Minimum 15 years of experience with progressively more senior positions focusing on mining.
• Experience within a consulting organization is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Implement the environmental assessment and permitting process for mining projects.
• Manage projects including scheduling, health and safety, and budgets.
• Develop and implement consultation programs for regulatory requirements.

Skills

Strong understanding of the mining sector in North America

Experience leading environmental assessments

Strong leadership and business development skills

Knowledge of Ontario mining-related regulations

Experience liaising with government and Indigenous communities

Education

Environmental Scientist, Environmental Planner, Geologist, Engineer

Minimum 15 years’ professional experience in mining
