Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Canada is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer based in Calgary or Vancouver to lead open pit mining studies from concept through feasibility and execution, delivering innovative, high-impact solutions for projects across Canada and globally.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, develop mine plans and production schedules using Deswik, and mentor engineers while building trusted client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering and Professional Engineer designation in Canada, or eligibility to obtain one.
• 10–15+ years of progressive experience in open pit mine planning, design, and development.
• Proven experience delivering technical mining studies across the full project lifecycle, including PEA, PFS, and FS work.
• Advanced expertise in mine planning software, particularly Deswik; experience with Vulcan, MineScape, or ArcGIS is an asset.
• Strong understanding of mine economics, cost estimation, production scheduling, and equipment productivity analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex technical deliverables.
• Experience supporting client engagement, proposal development, project scoping, and business development activities.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical report writing and client-facing presentations.

Responsibilities
