Job summary

Zurich Canada is seeking an Underwriter or Senior Underwriter for Middle Market to grow broker networks and deliver tailored commercial property/casualty solutions. You will underwrite renewals and new business, using Zurich Way of Underwriting within delegated authority to balance risk and service.

This role offers a hybrid schedule with three days in-office per week across Canada. Strong underwriting knowledge, broker relationship finesse and collaboration with cross-functional teams are

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lines of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
• Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, pricing and guideline requirements
• Experience working on quotes for new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Serve as an advocate of Middle Market value proposition with focus on improving customer experience
• Develop broker networks related to mid-market customers
• Make broker calls with planned purpose to promote products and services
• Identify opportunities through local relationships for renewals and new accounts
• Apply rating tools and methodologies to deliver to customers
• Work within delegated authorities and adhere to underwriting rules and guidelines
