Job summary

Zurich Canada is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist to grow a portfolio of new and renewal business with strong broker partnerships and disciplined underwriting. You will evaluate complex risks, structure tailored coverage, and negotiate pricing to deliver profitable outcomes in a hybrid work setting.

Reporting to the VP, Middle Market, you will mentor colleagues, contribute to underwriting best practices, and drive operational excellence across the underwriting function while

Qualifications

• Manage broker relationships to drive profitable growth.
• Strong underwriting principles, pricing methodologies and risk selection.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of new and renewal business while delivering profitable underwriting results.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers, agents, customers and distribution partners.
• Identify and pursue opportunities aligned with underwriting appetite and growth objectives.
• Analyze complex risks and develop coverage solutions to meet customer needs.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions to achieve profitable outcomes.
• Provide technical underwriting guidance to brokers, customers and internal stakeholders.
• Promote Zurich products and capabilities and seek cross-sell opportunities.
• Monitor portfolio performance and apply underwriting tools and pricing disciplines.
