REPORTING TO: SUPERVISOR OR ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Strategist is responsible for providing strategic insight across all media into a client’s business to develop the most creative, cost-effective, and efficient media communication plans.

He/she is also responsible for building and maintaining client relationships and internal relationships with the account group and buyers.

WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE

  1. Train and mentor juniors and manage their day-to-day workload
  2. Develop strategic media POVs and hone your writing skills
  3. Develop creative media plans according to strategy, considering all potential media vehicles (Digital, Search, social, broadcast, print, OOH, etc.)
  4. Present media plans to clients
  5. Ensure execution of plans
  6. Assume ownership of plan revisions due to budget or strategic changes
  7. Build solid relationships with buyers and account groups
  8. Assist Strategy Supervisor on client deliverables
  9. Liaise directly with clients
  10. Negotiate media rates with suppliers
  11. Use of OMD Design in strategy planning
  12. Broaden knowledge and understanding of partner agency disciplines
  13. Utilize all available (industry) media measurement tools
  14. Sound understanding of Media Research Tools (Omni)
  15. Participate in all relevant corporate training

DEVELOPMENTAL TRAINING

  1. Gain further insight into client’s business (sales, economic, competitive)
  2. Understanding of markets/media/buying conditions
  3. Continual mentoring of juniors
  4. Solidify business writing skills
  5. Attend industry media functions as an ambassador of OMD
  6. Volunteer for agency/department projects that interest you
