Job summary

Modern Niagara is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead complex mechanical projects in Ontario. You will manage labour, purchasing, supplier and subcontractor coordination, scheduling, and financial ownership while building strong client relationships.

You should communicate clearly, organize efficiently, and juggle multiple projects with confidence. The role includes travel to site locations and mentoring team members as needed.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years experience in the construction industry in a Project Management capacity with a strong emphasis placed on Mechanical work.
• Post-Secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to interpret site and building plans and specifications.
• Comfortable in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a proven track record of prioritizing tasks based on demand and deadlines.
• Results and solutions-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate and contribute in estimating turnover and pre-construction meetings.
• Support the project Foreman by developing a strong working relationship and provide project execution guidance for assigned projects.
• Effectively manage the labour workforce on your respective project.
• Complete detailed and accurate monthly financial forecasting reports and participate in PSR meetings.
• Build and strengthen subcontractor and supplier relationships; review contracts for scope, maintain productivity, quality, and costs.
• Attend client and construction meetings and disseminate information to workforce, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Attend job site progress walks and monitor progress and schedule.
• Estimating and assisting in estimating if required.
• Ensuring that Modern Niagara’s safety standards are communicated and adhered to.
• Participate in project reviews to foster continuous process improvements.

Must haves:

• Fundamental understanding of project financial controls.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with frequent travel to site locations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Design/build experience is highly advantageous.

This is a new position. Expected annual compensation; $115,000 - $130,000
