Job summary

Modern Niagara is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead HVAC-focused construction projects across multiple sites. The role requires coordinating labour, purchasing, suppliers, and subcontractors while managing budgets and client relationships.

Your ability to communicate clearly, organize resources, and drive on-time delivery will be essential. Occasional travel to project locations is expected as part of the position.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in construction project management with a focus on mechanical (HVAC) work.
• Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to read site/building plans and specifications.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
• Leadership and mentoring capability; strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in estimating turnover and pre-construction meetings.
• Support the project Foreman with guidance for project execution.
• Manage the labour workforce on assigned projects.
• Prepare detailed monthly financial forecasts and participate in PSR meetings.
• Strengthen subcontractor and supplier relationships; review contracts for scope and costs.
• Attend client and construction meetings and disseminate information to teams.
• Monitor site progress and schedule during site walks.
• Assist with estimating as required.
• Ensure Modern Niagara safety standards are communicated and followed.
• Contribute to project reviews for continuous improvements.

The Mechanical Project Manager drives project success by managing budgets, schedules, and resources while fostering collaboration among teams, suppliers, and clients. Their leadership ensures projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with Modern Niagara’s strategic objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Actively participate and contribute in estimating turnover, and pre-construction meetings.
• Support the project Foreman by developing a strong working relationship and provide project execution guidance for assigned projects.
• Effectively manage the labour workforce on your respective project.
• Complete detailed and accurate monthly financial forecasting reports and participate in our project status review (PSR) meetings.
• Build and strengthen subcontractor and supplier relationships; review contracts for scope, maintain productivity, quality, and costs and ensure the projects are completed in a manner that supports the overall strategic and operational objectives of the company.
• Attend client and construction meetings as required and to disseminate the information to workforce, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Attending job site progress walks and monitoring progress and schedule.
• Estimating and assisting in estimating if required.
• Ensuring that Modern Niagara’s safety standards are communicated and adhered to.
• Participate in project reviews to foster the continuous process improvements.

Must haves:

• 5-7 years experience in the construction industry in a Project Management capacity with a strong emphasis placed on Mechanical (HVAC) work.
• Post-Secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to interpret site and building plans and specifications.
• Comfortable in managing multiple projects simultaneously with a proven track record of successfully prioritizing tasks based on demand and deadlines.
• Results and solutions-oriented individual in addition to having strong problem-solving skills.
• Experienced with, and a willingness to train and mentor team members.
• A track record that clearly demonstrates effective leadership when interacting with multiple external clients.
• Working knowledge of contract terms and conditions.
• Fundamental understanding of project financial controls.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with frequent travel to site locations.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Design/build experience is highly advantageous.

This is a new position. Expected annual compensation; $90,000 - $115,000
