Candu Energy Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical PLiM/PLEX Engineer based in Mississauga, ON.

The role leads a team of engineers, applies plant life management and life extension principles, and collaborates with consultants and vendor teams to enhance performance, reliability, and safety of nuclear plant systems. The ideal candidate has a mechanical/ nuclear engineering background, P.Eng., and proven expertise in PLiM/PLEX, with experience across pumps, valves, heat exchangers and rotating

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited University in Mechanical, Process or Nuclear Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario.
• Extensive plant life management and extension experience, preferably in CANDU reactors or related facilities.
• Solid knowledge of pumps, fans, motors, valves, heat exchangers, steam generators, condensers, piping and rotating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers, providing mentoring and coaching for PLiM/PLEX knowledge transfer.
• Supervise PLiM/PLEX consultants, contractors and vendor service teams.
• Develop and implement plant life management methodologies to mitigate degradation risks.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to provide mechanical input for deliverables (specifications, layouts, inspections, commissioning plans).
• Define project scope, monitor progress and report to clients.
• Conduct site visits for equipment inspection, condition monitoring and maintenance planning.
• Assist other engineers and branch managers with daily engineering activities.
