Job summary

EXP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of municipal and industrial water and wastewater facilities in Sudbury or Barrie, Ontario. You will oversee mechanical design, equipment selection, and project delivery while coordinating with civil, electrical, and process teams.

Ideal candidates have a P.Eng. in Ontario or eligibility, 10+ years of relevant experience, and a track record delivering complex infrastructure projects with strong client communication.

Qualifications

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater facilities and related infrastructure.
• Experience delivering detailed drawings, specs and contract documents.
• Strong communication, writing and client-facing skills.
• Willingness to travel within Ontario as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pumping stations, and related infrastructure.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports, drawings, and contract documents.
• Design mechanical process equipment: pumps, blowers, HVAC, piping, dewatering.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage project budgets and schedules.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Review drawings, RFIs, and support during construction.
