The role requires strong automation machine design experience, SolidWorks proficiency, pneumatics knowledge, and the ability to provide technical guidance across the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in automation mechanical design.
• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Experience with solutions-based design.
• Post-secondary diploma/degree in mechanical design or engineering.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, actuators, and servo-driven systems.
• Experience designing rack-and-pinion or cam-driven mechanisms.
• Ability to select and integrate standard machine components.
• Strong manufacturability focus.

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Mechanical Designer to join a leading automation company. This individual will design custom mechanical solutions for automated equipment, perform engineering calculations, create detailed manufacturing drawings, and provide design support throughout the project lifecycle.

This is a highly hands-on role where the designer will own key portions of machine designs and work independently with minimal oversight. In addition to handling complex design challenges, the Senior Mechanical Designer will review the work of other designers, provide technical guidance, and help maintain engineering quality standards across projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automation machine design, SolidWorks, pneumatics, and servo-driven systems. They should be capable of independently delivering complex designs and serving as a technical resource for the broader team.

Skills and Requirements

-5+ years experience within Automaton Mechanical Design-Proficient with SolidWorks-Experience with solutions based designing- Post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical design, mechanical engineering or equivalent-Strong mechanical aptitude and machine design experience.-Knowledge of pneumatics, actuators, and servo-driven systems.-Experience designing mechanical mechanisms such as rack-and-pinion or cam-driven systems.-Ability to select and integrate standard machine components into custom equipment designs.-Strong understanding of manufacturability and practical machine design.-Experience working with automated machinery, material handling systems, or custom equipment-PDM experience is a must-Familiarity with industrial suppliers and automation components (e.g., Carr Lane, McMaster-Carr, Allen-Bradley)-Leadership experience
