Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design of custom automation equipment from concept through commissioning. You will act as the technical authority, mentor engineers, and collaborate with project managers, applications engineers, and customers to deliver on time and within scope.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in automation manufacturing, strong experience in DFMA, FAT/SAT planning, and vendor collaboration, and can drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in automation/capital equipment.
• Strong background in mechanical design and automation equipment.
• Experience with engineering calculations and design validation.
• Experience with DFMA and risk assessments.

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading custom automation and capital equipment manufacturer. This individual will play a key leadership role in driving complex automation projects from concept through commissioning, serving as the technical authority for mechanical design while collaborating closely with project managers, applications engineers, customers, and cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineering leader with extensive experience designing custom automation equipment, leading technical teams, and delivering projects through FAT/SAT acceptance. They will be responsible for mechanical design execution, risk management, customer engagement, technical decision‑making, and mentoring junior engineers while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Skills and Requirements

• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience within custom automation, capital equipment, machinery, or industrial manufacturing environments.
• Strong background in mechanical design, machine design, manufacturing processes, and automation equipment.
• Experience performing engineering calculations, design validation, risk assessments, and technical reviews.
• Proficiency with:SolidWorksAutoCADPDM systemsTotalETO etc.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) experience.FAT/SAT planning and execution.Vendor management and supply chain collaboration.Continuous improvement and engineering process optimization initiatives
