The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, results driven, self-starter to join our head office team as a Senior Marketing Specialist. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to shape and execute marketing strategies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a meaningful contribution to our brand’s success. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Senior Marketing Specialist will work with the marketing team to coordinate, plan, execute, and collaborate on all brand-level marketing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Marketing Manager to develop, implement and evaluate the integrated marketing campaigns across offline and online tactics to drive brand awareness, consideration and adoption
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to manage and update annual marketing activation plan and calendar
  • Be in contact with GMs and Operators to ensure marketing efforts are effectively landing in store, capturing and sharing out best practices as needed
  • Execute marketing tactics, partnerships, programming and activations at a national level supporting franchise and corporate locations ensuring brand consistency across the executions
  • Support with organizing photo / video shoots for earned, owned and paid channels, ensuring digital content and locally produced collateral is aligned to brand standards
  • Social media content planning, strategy and management. Monitoring and posting on various social channels
  • Keep the marketing and social calendars up to date, making recommendations and adjustments as needed
  • Ensure creative marketing materials undergo regular review and ensure that brand presence on all approved marketing collateral and sites are up-to-date and aligned with brand standards
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders internally (brand leaders, GM’s, Franchisees) to ensure there is adequate planning, execution and monitoring of marketing activities
  • Work in partnership with external agencies and vendors in the execution of campaigns and projects
  • Brainstorm and develop ideas for creative marketing campaigns - both national and local
  • Populate campaign process tools, including campaign briefs, critical paths, and workback schedules
  • Assist in analyzing marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, etc.) to help inform future marketing strategies
  • Support in the management of the marketing budget, ensuring campaigns are always on target
  • Keep up to date with consumer requirements, habits and trends
  • Provide recommendations for future strategic initiatives through competitive analysis
  • Stay up to date with market and online trends relevant to Denny’s to ensure campaigns and promotions are relevant to our guests
  • Perform other duties deemed necessary by management to support the organization

Qualifications

  • You have 5-7 years of relevant marketing, brand, or communications experience
  • You have experience in project management / project coordination
  • You have strong organizational skills, excel at managing multiple priorities effectively, and possess excellent time management skills
  • You are a self-starter, comfortable with proactively managing projects and its deliverables
  • You have a keen attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks
  • You have a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. You demonstrate resourcefulness in addressing obstacles. You can think creatively to develop innovative solutions
  • You are highly collaborative, fostering relationships with internal cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies
  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team-oriented environment
  • You are value driven at your core, operating with integrity, honesty, and trust
  • Experience in marketing in the hospitality industry is an asset
  • Experience in digital marketing is an asset
  • Experience in social media content, planning and strategy is an asset

Work & Travel

The candidate must live in Vancouver; you’ll work a hybrid schedule out of our Support Center, located on West Broadway. Occasional travel in Canada and the US may be required.
