AstraZeneca in Canada seeks a Senior Marketing Manager (CVRM) to lead the launch of BAXFENDY for hypertension and to shape future CVRM launches. You will align cross-functional teams, translate brand strategy into execution, and collaborate with Medical, Market Access, and global teams from the Toronto hub and beyond.

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent in the Sciences and/or Business.
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience with core capabilities in brand strategy, analytics & insights, customer experience, digital and omnichannel approaches, forecasting and financial management, and performance measurement.
  • Specialty care experience (nephrology and/or cardiology), launch experience preferred.
  • Collaborative teammate with the ability to inspire, lead without authority, and engage a diverse cross‑functional team.
  • Agile learner with a growth mindset who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, able to articulate complex ideas to senior leaders.
  • Willingness to travel for key national conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Lead without authority to foster a positive, collaborative culture across the cross‑functional team.
  • Partner with Medical & Market Access for brand strategy, launch planning, and operational planning.
  • Clearly communicate and tell the brand story to local senior leaders and global brand teams during plan presentations and launch reviews.
  • Lead forecasting and budgeting cycles, updating assumptions based on learnings and pursuing profitability.
  • Lead performance discussions, including Monthly Business Reviews with senior leaders.
  • Co‑lead strategy to transform care for HTN across Canada and optimize the patient journey.
  • Work with other SMMs and global/regional colleagues; report Adverse Events per AstraZeneca policies.

Reporting to the Commercial Director Cardiovascular & Renal (CVRM), the Senior Marketing Manager (SMM) for CVRM is accountable to champion and drive the launch of BAXFENDY to transform the treatment of Hypertension (HTN) while also preparing for future CVRM launches.

With a strong foundation in core marketing capabilities, you are able to lead, inspire, and align the broader cross-functional team on our key priorities and team purpose to meaningfully impact patients with Hypertension (HTN). You will collaboratively build bold, focused, and innovative plans to help improve the lives of patients living with HTN. You will ensure executional excellence of our strategy and customer experience plans, prioritizing the opportunities with the biggest impact. You will also collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to build and execute launch readiness plans for future portfolio products, balancing near‑term wins and long‑term growth.

In this role, you will:
  • You will lead without authority to foster a positive and collaborative culture, including partnering with the broader cross‑functional team. You will ensure there is high engagement across the team, while instilling a growth mindset to drive innovation and ultimately brand growth.
  • You will partner with Medical & Market Access to lead future planning for the brand, including strategy, launch planning, and operational planning. You will clearly communicate and tell our brand story to key partners, including local senior leaders and global brand teams, during brand plan presentations and launch readiness reviews.
  • You will lead our forecasting and budgeting cycles, ensuring that assumptions are continually updated based on key learnings, and that we are maximizing profitability for the brand.
  • You will lead performance discussions, including Monthly Business Reviews, with senior leaders and the Executive Team.
  • You will co‑lead our strategy to transform the care of patients with HTN across Canada. You will look to understand and alleviate barriers to optimize the patient journey, with the goal of driving policy change to meaningfully impact patients.
  • You will work closely with other SMMs across the different business units and build strong relationships across the broader organization, in Canada, and with our global and regional colleagues.
  • You will also be responsible collecting and reporting Adverse Events in accordance with AstraZeneca policies and procedures.
Your education, qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • University degree or equivalent in the Sciences and/or Business.
  • At least 5 years of marketing experience with a strong foundation in core marketing capabilities (i.e., brand positioning and strategy, analytics & insights, customer experience, digital and omnichannel approaches, forecasting and financial management, and performance measurement).
  • Specialty care (including Nephrology and/or Cardiology), rare disease, and/or launch experience would be an asset.
  • Collaborative teammate with a strong ability to inspire, lead without authority, and engage a diverse cross‑functional team to achieve brand goals.
  • Agile learner with a growth mindset who is comfortable operating in dynamic, ambiguous, competitive, fast‑paced, and complex environments. Engages in a test and learn approach, continually striving for progress over excellence, and is resilient in the face of adversity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (oral and written). Has the ability to simplify and clearly articulate complex ideas to tell a cohesive story, gaining alignment with and support from senior leadership.
  • Willingness to travel for key national conferences.
