Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period. Applicants will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within our facilities.

Responsibilities for this Position

Help develop technologies, products, and services that make a difference. At General Dynamics Mission Systems, we help our nation’s heroes keep our nation safe by creating advanced solutions that redefine innovation. We apply technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, AR/VR, Cloud Native, and Quantum Physics to solve our customers’ missions across cyber, RF, undersea, interstellar space, and more. You will develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing methods, operation sequences, and processes for parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will collaborate with internal teams to estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and recommend tooling and process requirements for new or existing product lines. We continually seek ways to improve manufacturing methods by leveraging knowledge of product design, materials, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment, assembly methods, and quality standards.

What you bring to the table:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and electrical/mechanical components, systems, and applications
  • Understanding of lean techniques and statistical analysis
