Ontario’s electricity sector is undergoing unprecedented change, from generational investments in new infrastructure, growing demand driven by economic growth and the establishment of a new electricity market. The Senior Manager, Strategic Relationships and Insights will have the opportunity to work at the heart of the sector and play a pivotal role in shaping the IESO’s engagement strategy.

Reporting to the Director, Sector Engagement, the Senior Manager will drive the success of IESO partnerships and research strategies, deriving actionable insights and fostering sector collaboration in support of both the energy transition and positive energy outcomes for the people of Ontario.

  • Direct work priorities, administration, and management of a multi-faceted team to ensure they deliver on divisional and corporate goals.
  • Lead and execute a robust market and stakeholder research program that delivers data, trends, and insights to enhance IESO’s engagement strategies.
  • Provide support to the IESO’s executive and senior leadership with community and stakeholder intelligence.
  • Leverage, maintain and enhance a network of external strategic partners.
  • Develop strong partnerships with internal lines of business.
  • Provide supervision to staff, including full responsibility for hiring and advancement.
  • Ability to assume the signing authority and represent the Director on occasion.
  • Other duties or responsibilities as may be assigned.

  • Knowledge and experience in Stakeholder Engagement and/or Market Research.
  • Knowledge of the Ontario electricity sector is a valuable asset.
  • Proven success in managing relationships and corporate reputation through research and insights.
  • Experience in managing teams, budgets and developing staff.
  • Exceptional writing and presentation skills.
  • High degree of political acuity.
  • Knowledge and experience in business management functions and business strategy.
  • Technical and analytical knowledge of the energy industry.
  • 10+ years of experience in Stakeholder and/or Market Research or related fields.

What’s in it for you

  • A comprehensive total rewards program, including best-in-class benefits and a flexible workplace.
  • A challenging, fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
  • Leaders who support your growth and success through regular feedback and coaching.
  • The opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
