Who We Are

SWTCH is pioneering EV charging solutions for multifamily and commercial properties across North America.

Founded in 2016 by entrepreneurs, investors, and energy professionals, SWTCH had a vision of enabling communities to realize the social, economic, and environmental benefits of widespread EV adoption. Since then, its EV charging and energy management solutions have been installed in hundreds of multifamily buildings, 50 percent of which are classified as low-to-moderate income. By leveraging the latest technology available, SWTCH is making EV charging possible for all buildings.

With a growing base of clients across North America, SWTCH is currently looking for opportunities to deepen our market penetration across Canada and the United States.

The Opportunity

SWTCH Energy Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and execution-driven Senior HRBP with a strong HR foundation. This role is critical in shaping a positive, engaging, and high-performance culture. Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing strategies and programs that foster a strong sense of belonging and connection among our employees, directly impacting our growth objectives and operational success.

This position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who excels at building and nurturing a vibrant and inclusive workplace across Canada and the United States. You possess a strong understanding of HR best practices, including compliance knowledge in both regions, and are equally comfortable operating at the strategic level and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Employee Engagement & Relations (North America):
  • Develop and execute innovative, data-driven employee engagement strategies and initiatives (e.g., pulse surveys, feedback forums, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, social events) to cultivate a positive, collaborative, and high-performance culture across all locations
  • Act as a champion for employee voice, ensuring effective communication channels are in place to promote transparency, build trust, and gather insights into employee sentiment
  • Serve as a trusted HR advisor and primary point of contact to employees and managers on policies, procedures, and employee relations, emphasizing a supportive environment
  • Proactively and empathetically address employee concerns and grievances in a fair and timely manner, conducting investigations and ensuring resolutions align with laws and company values
  • Drive initiatives that strengthen relationships among team members, including facilitating opportunities for in-person connection within our hybrid work model
  • Partner with leadership to embed employee engagement principles into all aspects of the employee lifecycle
  • Performance Management & Development:
  • Collaborate on the design and implementation of a performance management framework, including clear goal-setting processes, regular feedback mechanisms, and formal performance reviews that align with company objectives and fosters a culture of growth
  • Identify organizational and individual training and development needs, sourcing or developing relevant learning and development programs to enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance
  • Support the development and implementation of career development plans and internal mobility strategies that promote employee growth, retention, and a sense of opportunity within the company
  • Compensation & Benefits (North America):
  • Collaborate with finance and senior leadership to develop and administer competitive and equitable compensation and benefits packages that align with market standards in both Canada and the United States
  • Conduct regular benchmarking analysis of compensation and benefits to ensure market competitiveness and compliance with local regulations
  • Manage employee benefits programs, including enrollment, communication, and vendor relationships, ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness in both countries
  • HR Policy & Compliance (Canada & USA):
  • Maintain a thorough and current understanding of all applicable labor laws and regulations in both Canada and the United States (federal, provincial/state, and local)
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of clear and legally compliant HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks tailored to each country's specific requirements
  • Ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures across the organization
  • Support HR-related compliance reporting and audits for both Canadian and US operations
  • Strategic Talent Acquisition & Onboarding (North America):
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to define specific talent needs, craft compelling and accurate job descriptions tailored to each market, and establish clear hiring timelines and processes
  • Support the full lifecycle recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, candidate assessment, background checks, and offer negotiation, ensuring a positive candidate experience
  • Track and analyze key recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, source of hire) to optimize recruitment effectiveness
  • Champion and support the development and execution of comprehensive DEIB strategies and initiatives that cultivate a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, a sense of belonging, and are empowered to contribute their best
  • Establish measurable DEIB goals and track progress against key metrics, regularly reporting on diversity data and identifying areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with leadership and employee resource groups (if applicable) to promote DEIB initiatives and foster a culture of inclusivity
