Our Local Programs and Regulatory Compliance team is responsible for ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations in the countries where we operate.

We are hiring a highly motivated Compliance Senior Manager, reporting to the CCO of Crypto.com Canada. This highly visible role is responsible for the development and maintenance of our compliance program and providing effective solutions to support our fast-paced growth. Fully remote position for Canadian residents only.

Responsibilities
  1. Proactively lead compliance efforts, aligning with Canada’s Securities regulations stipulated in the National Instrument, and ensure compliance with our Restricted Dealer and Marketplace registration and accompanying exemptive relief decisions.
  2. Lead efforts to prepare Crypto.com Canada for CIRO membership, including updating compliance policies and procedures according to CIRO’s requirements.
  3. Provide ongoing updates to Crypto.com Canada’s Senior Management regarding the compliance program.
  4. Ensure proper escalation of compliance incidents or material issues to the CCO and UDP.
  5. Manage development and delivery of relevant compliance training.
  6. Ensure policies and procedures meet or exceed regulatory requirements and are implemented in accordance with policies.
  7. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Product and Finance, to ensure ongoing compliance.
  8. Advise stakeholders on product development to strengthen registration obligations.
  9. Oversee complaints and marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
  10. Manage registration processes for the firm and individual representatives.
  11. Support the CCO in regulatory exams, meetings, and engagements (e.g., OSC, CIRO, OFSI, FINTRAC).
Requirements
  1. 8+ years of experience with various National Instruments applicable to Crypto Trading Platforms, including CIRO (formerly IIROC) requirements and best practices.
  2. Resident in Canada.
  3. Deep knowledge of regulatory, risk, governance, and infrastructure challenges related to digital assets, securities, custody, and onboarding of digital asset FIs and CTPs.
  4. Strong communication skills and ability to build internal relationships, collaborating cross-functionally.
  5. Ability to challenge and influence stakeholders to ensure well-thought-out decisions that are operationally feasible.
  6. Comfortable with change, ambiguity, conflict, and managing multiple stakeholders.
  7. Proven leadership to drive results through people, communication, and influence.
  8. Experience working with product and tech teams on tool implementations.
  9. Highly organized, with a focus on processes and people.
  10. Hold registration as an Approved Person under CIRO (fka IIROC) or willingness to obtain it.
  11. Register as a Dealing Representative with the Ontario Securities Commission or willingness to do so.
