Job summary

Summit Search Group is seeking a Senior Manager of Operations & Compliance to lead operational excellence, enforce regulatory standards, and drive risk management across the organization. You will partner with Legal, HR, Finance, Quality, and IT to design scalable processes and strengthen governance.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, cross‑functional collaboration, and mentoring a team of operations and compliance professionals to build capability and resilience.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of progressive experience in operations, compliance, quality, or risk management.
  • Experience in regulated industries is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, audit processes, and operational governance.
  • Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex, multi‑site operations.
  • Expertise in process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business; advanced degree or professional certification (PMP, Lean Six Sigma, CRMP, CCO) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operational performance across business units, ensuring service levels, productivity, and quality targets are consistently met.
  • Develop and implement standardized operating procedures (SOPs), workflows, and performance metrics to improve efficiency and operational consistency.
  • Oversee capacity planning, resource allocation, and operational forecasting to support business growth and strategic priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to reduce waste, streamline processes, and enhance customer experience.
  • Lead cross‑functional committees or working groups focused on compliance, safety, quality, or operational transformation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of operations and compliance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Build training programs to strengthen compliance awareness, operational capability, and process discipline across the organization.
  • Set clear performance expectations and develop talent pipelines for future leadership roles.

Job description

The Senior Manager, Operations & Compliance, is responsible for leading operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and risk management across the organization. This role champions the day‑to‑day operational performance, ensures adherence to internal policies and external regulations, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen efficiency, quality, and governance. The Senior Manager partners closely with cross‑functional leaders in Operations, Finance, Legal, HR, Quality, and IT to build scalable processes, mitigate risk, and support organizational growth.

  • Operational Leadership

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Lead internal audits, compliance reviews, and corrective action plans to address gaps and strengthen governance.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and proactively update policies, training, and operational practices to maintain compliance readiness.
  • Manage risk assessments, incident investigations, and root‑cause analysis to prevent recurrence and improve organizational resilience.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Legal, HR, Finance, and Quality teams to align operational practices with corporate governance frameworks.
  • Support new product launches, system implementations, and organizational initiatives by ensuring operational and compliance requirements are met.
  • Lead cross‑functional committees or working groups focused on compliance, safety, quality, or operational transformation.
  • Manage and mentor a team of operations and compliance professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Build training programs to strengthen compliance awareness, operational capability, and process discipline across the organization.

What you should bring:
