BDO Canada is seeking a Senior Manager to lead our Indirect Tax Services practice in Canada. You will advise clients on GST/HST, QST, and other indirect taxes, guide technical positions, and manage complex engagements while collaborating across Tax, Advisory, and Assurance.

Qualifications

• CPA designation or equivalent asset; JD/LLB is an asset.
• 5+ years indirect tax experience in professional services or relevant sectors.
• Strong GST/HST, QST, and provincial tax knowledge.
• Proven ability to manage complex client engagements and provide risk-based advice.
• Experience leading tax authority audits and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Advise on GST/HST, QST, PST, carbon taxes and other indirect taxes across Canadian jurisdictions.
• Lead research and development of technical positions for complex indirect tax issues.
• Prepare client deliverables including memoranda and ruling requests.
• Manage indirect tax compliance engagements and identify planning opportunities.
• Represent clients before tax authorities during audits and negotiations.
• Develop and maintain client relationships and identify new business opportunities.
• Collaborate with Tax, Advisory, and Assurance to deliver integrated solutions.
• Coach and develop team members and ensure high-quality output.
• Support practice growth through business development and proposals.
• Monitor legislative developments and communicate implications to clients.
