Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Manager, Expansion & Partnerships to enable growth through location expansion and revenue generating partnerships. This role will be responsible for managing the entire process of opening new locations, from site selection to grand opening, as well as conceptualizing and implementing partnerships that enhance the experience of Medcan clients. The ideal candidate will bring entrepreneurial energy, strong project management and problem solving skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with and influence various stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Identify and evaluate potential markets and locations for new sites based on market / client research, demographic analysis, site visits and competitive landscape.
- Identify, develop and assess opportunities to enhance client experience within locations, including but not limited to new services, design features and value-adds
- Monitor the performance of each location and recommend opportunities to optimize and standardize offerings across sites; refine the overall design of site formats for future expansion
- Identify opportunities to optimize / reduce capital costs through best practices, vendor negotiations and partnerships, and design alternatives (while maintaining brand and experience standards)
- Oversee the entire development process for new store openings, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop detailed cross-functional project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resourcing to achieve new location opening dates scheduled for the next 3-5 years.
- Coordinate and manage internal teams to communicate and achieve cross-functional milestones to support new location opening; work with stakeholders to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication and direction; provide update to senior management, proactively identify issues and resolution steps.
- Collaborate with the Hospitality team and vendors to create store layouts that optimize space and enhance customer experience.
- Monitor and control project costs to achieve budget; prepare and present budget reports to senior management, highlighting variances and corrective actions.
- Evaluate and implement new revenue generating partnerships and/or corporate development opportunities as required, including strategic, financial, legal, and operational aspects to identify potential benefits and risks.
- Lead due diligence and cross-functional implementation planning / execution to realize approved business cases and successfully transition opportunities to operations.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field; MBA an asset.
- 8+ years of progressive work experience, including roles managing new store development, launching or transforming businesses / products, real estate projects or new partnerships.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strategic thinker who can also sweat the details; adaptable and able to think through new problems / opportunities and consider business and operational implications.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners; able to partner and influence to drive projects to completion.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop executive-level presentations that synthesize issues, opportunities and action plans.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week based on business needs between regular office hours Monday – Saturday (8 AM - 5 PM). Our downtown Toronto clinic is conveniently located at 150 York St., which is nearby St. Andrew station or a 10-minute walk from Union Station!
