At Deloitte, our ESG Reporting Advisory Team

The ESG Reporting Advisory team combines deep technical expertise in corporate reporting with clients’ sustainability reporting needs. This team provides advisory and assurance services for clients throughout their ESG reporting journey, including supporting clients navigating the impact of ESG factors on financial and regulatory reporting, quantification and measurement of ESG metrics, building processes and control environments, and delivering assurance around ESG metrics and disclosures. Our team works with clients to ensure that ESG is embedded at the core of an organization’s purpose and takes a holistic approach centered on integrated thinking. Our team includes specialists with industry-specific sustainability perspectives focusing on complex accounting, regulatory requirements, and overall communications in corporate reporting.

What will your typical day look like?

As a Senior Manager, you will:

  • Lead implementation projects to support clients in complying with ISSB standards and CSRD requirements (amongst other standards and regulations).
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reporting updates to clients on technical developments in ESG reporting.
  • Lead ESG assurance engagements, applying a strong understanding of assurance requirements under ISAE 300/3410 (and/or CSAE equivalents), and subject matter expertise in topics such as GHG emissions.
  • Advise on the application of the GHG Protocol in determining GHG emissions.
  • Research complex applications and interpretive issues in the implementation of ISSB and ESRS.
  • Deliver multiple project tasks or components, including completing proposals.
  • Collaborate with others on climate change and sustainability matters to provide expert insight on the impact and interactions of climate change with other sustainability areas.
  • Act as engagement manager, taking ownership for all aspects of engagement delivery from scoping and team selection through to delivery, risk and quality management, and budgetary control.
  • Utilize subject matter knowledge to lead new business development opportunities and grow Deloitte’s ESG proposition.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to junior team members.

Enough about us, let’s talk about you

As a Senior Manager, you are someone with:

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting or business, or undergraduate degree in sustainability management, climate policy, public policy or a related environmental, social or engineering discipline.
  • CPA, CA designation or equivalency.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with public companies, or minimum 5 years of relevant work experience with ESG-related standards and frameworks including ISSB, GRI, GHG Protocol SASB and TCFD.
  • Strong audit or advisory technical skills, and solid knowledge of IFRS and/or US GAAP accounting standards.
  • Ability to think critically about issues from a strategic perspective and aptitude in researching accounting standards and interpretive guidance.
  • Effective consensus building, conflict resolution, and team-building skills, including mentoring others.
  • Experience with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, facilitation of decision making, documentation, managing client expectations and team leadership.
  • Strong management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Understanding of green and social bonds, relevant principles, market challenges and insights.
Total Rewards

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $205,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program.
