Senior Manager, Development and Partnerships

Oceana Canada is seeking a strategic, proactive, and relationship-driven fundraising professional to join our team as Senior Manager of Development & Partnerships (Maternity Leave Cover). In this key role, you’ll lead the execution of our 2025–2026 major gifts strategy, managing a portfolio of donors and prospects to meet revenue goals and drive meaningful impact. Working closely with our Executive Director, senior staff, and global fundraising teams, you’ll develop compelling donor proposals, lead high-level stewardship efforts, and contribute to cross-functional planning that advances our mission to restore abundance to Canada’s oceans.

Oceana Canada was established as an independent charity in 2015 and is part of the largest international advocacy group dedicated solely to ocean conservation. Oceana Canada has successfully campaigned to ban plastic pollution, end the shark fin trade, make rebuilding depleted fish populations the law, improve the way fisheries are managed and protect marine habitat.Canada has the longest coastline in the world, with an ocean surface area of 7.1 million square kilometres, or 70 per cent of its landmass. Oceana Canada believes that Canada has a national and global obligation to manage our natural resources responsibly and help ensure a sustainable source of protein for the world’s growing population. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of major gift fundraising experience, a strong track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts, and a passion for ocean conservation and evidence-based policy change. Experience in the environmental or advocacy sectors and familiarity with Salesforce and CRA guidelines are strong assets. This is a Fixed-Term, 1-Year maternity leave position, with potential extension up to 18 months. This can be based in our Toronto office (hybrid 3-days a week) or Remote in Vancouver, B.C. The role reports to the Senior Director of Communications and Development with a Pay Range: $95,000-$110,000 annually. Please apply by May 30,2025.
