Job Summary:
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Business Development Manager to drive growth and expand our market presence in the retail floral industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, marketing, and building long-term client relationships—preferably within the floral, horticultural, or perishable goods sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, research, and develop new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
- Cultivate strong, long-term relationships with wholesalers, retailers, florists, event planners, and distributors.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to create promotional campaigns and seasonal floral offerings.
- Provide forecasts and reports on business development performance and pipeline growth.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements with clients.
- Work collaboratively with multiple departments such as purchasing, marketing and operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Collaborate with the digital marketing team to implement effective digital marketing strategies to support offline marketing efforts.
Community and Corporate Relations:
- Build and maintain relationships with local Chambers of Commerce and networking groups.
- Establish and develop connections with corporate clients, including funeral homes, Maternity wards/Hospitals, Hipster coffee shops, Local Hangouts, Doctor’s offices, Funeral Homes, Retirement Homes etc.
- Oversee brand partnerships and sponsorships, managing contractual aspects.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management (experience in the floral or perishable goods sector is a plus).
- Strong understanding of sales strategies and business development processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, energetic and self-motivated.
- Willingness to travel for client meetings.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of floral supply chains, flower varieties, and seasonal trends.
- Existing relationships with floral industry stakeholders.
