Job summary

IATA Consulting in Montreal, Canada, is seeking a Senior Manager, Operations to lead a data and analytics delivery team for aviation BI initiatives.

You will oversee end-to-end data platform operations, ETL pipelines, vendor coordination, and performance reporting, while ensuring compliance with security and quality standards. Strong leadership and global data experience are required.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in CS or Aviation Information Systems or equivalent.
• 10+ years managing global data operations, preferably in aviation.
• 7+ years leading data management initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, and integration.
• Experience with AWS, Snowflake, BI tooling (Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Lead DDS cloud-based data solution operations and delivery.
• Coordinate with external providers, partners, and IT stakeholders.
• Oversee end-to-end ETL processes with ingestion teams.
• Monitor SLAs and report vendor performance with analytics.
• Mentor BI team and ensure ISO27001/9001 compliance.

About the team you are joining

IATA’s BusinessIntelligence Services are the focal point and driving force for data managementand global BI services for the aviation industry. The team is comprised ofaviation industry experts, data management and analytic professionals. One ofthe four verticals within the IATA BIS department focused on Passenger Traffic& Sales.
This unit places astrong emphasis on managing end-to-end delivery of products, Vendor managementsand acting as IATA in-house business expert in direct liaison with externalproviders and partners.
The Senior Manager, Operations reports to Head, PaxTraffic & Sales BI.

Responsibilities

• Take Charge of the technicaland operations aspects of DDS cloud-based industry data solution.
• Serve as the in-house business specialistand lead in direct liaison with external providers, partners, and internalIT stakeholders.
• Guiding end-to-end ETL processesin collaboration with the Ingestion team, in coordination with ARC andexternal vendors.
• Oversee the client end to end deliveryprocesses, this includes both Flat file and webtool deliveries and incoordination with ARC.
• Identify opportunities to improve and optimize operational processes and performance throughdata-driven insights.
• Monitor, measure, and reportSLAs for different vendors in coordination with IT and create an earlywarning mechanism related to Vendors quality, through creation anddistribution of regular reports and dashboards to support decision makingand early warnings.
• Oversees the processes of – butnot limited to - developing Statement of Work on change requests andsign-off on the deliverables and aid in grooming stories and making sureit’s a reflection of the business needs.
• Budget management: Monitor,manage and optimize the bank of days and costing related with enhancementand other out-of-pocket expenses.
• Managing in coordination withIT all maintenance and development processes and ensuring compliance withISO27001 / ISO 9001 standards.
• Manage a team responsible forboth product delivery and solution technology by mentoring and developinga team of BI experts.
• Training other colleagues ondata management framework, processes, tools and functions, which promotedatabase standards and best practices.

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Science or Aviation Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Must have solid aviation business expertise with 10+ years working experience managing global scale operations job. preferably in aviation commercial data
• 7+ years’ experience in data management lead role.
• Must have broad and sufficient knowledge of various aspects of data Management including data governance, data quality, master data management, data integration, information life cycle. Also is familiar with AWS & Snowflake solutions for data management, metadata management, business intelligence and reporting (MS Power BI), integration and systems architecture. Familiarity with Ticket management System, particularly JIRA / JSM.
• Proven experience working closely with business owners and subject matter experts to document, design, develop, and deliver high-quality data and analytics solutions is required.
• Requires solid knowledge of business planning, resource/financial planning and reporting, proven project management skills.
• Good interpersonal communication: the ability to communicate complex issues in a simple manner.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English.
• Team player and strong sense of ownership. Familiar with complex matrix structure
• Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.

Travel Required: 10
