Job Description

As Senior Manager, Business Engagement, within the PB&CB Supplier Management Office, you will educate and communicate third party risk policy and requirements to Lines of Businesses while you collaborate and proactively manage business KRIs, KPIs, non-compliances, issues, findings, and other third-party risk factors contributing to an LOB’s third party risk profile. You will also nurture and develop key relationships with LOB business supplier managers, business risk managers, and operational risk managers. You will be a key player in enabling the business with third party best practices with respect to the management of suppliers according to TPR policy and standards.

Please note this is an in-office role with a minimum of 4 days in office per week.

What will you do?
  • Build relationship with key business and COG (Centre of Governance) partners, Business Risk Managers, Operational Risk Directors, and provide third party risk strategic and change leadership for assigned LOB
  • Attend line of business risk forums to ensure third party risks and policy requirements are being considered, and adequately assessed
  • Work with the lines of business to ensure controls to mitigate third party risks are kept up to date
  • Oversight of business LOB third party risk profile health, ensure KRIs, KPIs, issues, findings, watchlist and other items requiring remediation are tracked and reported; support the business in closing non-compliance items
  • Be first point of contact for LOB, serve as change champion and provide advice and counsel on third party risk management policy
  • Escalate issues as required to senior management for timely resolution
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to drive efficiencies and effectiveness in the supplier management domain
  • Ensure timely response to service requests to ensure service standards are sustained
  • Balance deep process expertise with strong process management capabilities to ensure end to end Incident Management processes are designed with a ‘client first’ approach
  • Keep up with best practices and proactively identify, act upon, and enable continuous improvement opportunities and solutions for recurring errors, service/risk gaps and process efficiency and effectiveness enhancements
  • Identify opportunities, connecting through client interactions and matching appropriate advice/service solutions to RBC Partners needs to deliver results
  • Utilize effective tools and resources to investigate identified client irritants and gaps in process efficiency/effectiveness
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach in dealing with clients, colleagues, and service partners
  • Act as a change agent for the team and is fully committed to continuous improvement and its alignment to client and business strategies
  • Contribute to the overall success of the team by sharing ideas and best practices
What will you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Third party risk and operational risk management experience
  • Strong teamwork, motivation, and collaboration skills
  • Advanced proficiency working with large amounts of data, able to pull insights from data trends
  • Acute sense of urgency, ability to make decisions and take initiative
  • Proven ability to develop team and business relationships and cross-functional cooperation
  • Ability to adapt to change and work efficiently under pressure and within tight timelines
Nice to have
  • Advanced Degree or MBA
  • Proficient with MS PowerPoint
  • Experience and confidence working with ambiguity
  • Ability to understand business requirements and apply conceptual thinking to offer long term solutions
  • Bilingualism (English/French)
