As a Senior Manager, Aftermarket Finance, you will play a critical role in the financial and strategic performance of the Landing Gear Aftermarket value stream, which encompasses the MRO (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) and Commercial Aftermarket spares channels. As the Senior Finance Manager you will oversee both the accounting and FP&A functions while ensuring a strong control environment is maintained and championing a culture of continuous process improvement. This is a great opportunity for someone who is motivated to further develop effective presentation and leadership skills, displays critical thinking abilities and possesses a desire/eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, complex and dynamic environment. This is a leadership role with 3 direct reports.
You will work onsite 5 days a week at our Oakville, Ontario location. This role reports to the Associate Director, Program Finance (Commercial Landing Gear), also located at the Oakville facility.
What You Will Do:
- Provide financial leadership to the aftermarket team with quantitative analysis, ad-hoc reports and financial models used for the preparation of profitable business cases, pricing proposals to facilitate effective decision making
- Manage the Landing Gear Aftermarket team financial deliveries and deadlines (AMS and MRO)
- monthly closing process,
- annual operating plans,
- long-term strategic plans,
- monthly forecasts,
- support for Inventory management and rotable assets
- working capital valuation
- support accounts receivable management
- Accounting for GSE (Ground Support Equipment)
- Support Aftermarket Policy Deployment. Partner in creating policy deployment objectives and initiatives.
- Coordinate and review business financial risks and opportunities, collaborate with Landing Gear Aftermarket team in development of risk mitigation plans, forecasts and longer-term strategic plans.
- Ensure an effective internal financial controls environment is established and in compliance with US GAAP, SOX and all required legal or statutory requirements including ASC606 Revenue Recognition.
- Manage accuracy of reserves and ensure complex accounting positions are documented in an approved whitepaper.
- Provide support to Internal and External Auditors as required.
- Analyze financial results and provide a detailed analysis of variance to plan, forecast, and prior period results for revenue, EBIT and working capital.
- Approve journal entries and robust balance sheet account reconciliations prepared by direct reports ensuring appropriate supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with Operations Finance to understand the drivers of operational impacts to the financial results
- Provide timely reviews of the channel and value stream financial results to senior-level stakeholders
- Champion change through innovative thinking and proactive support of the use of process improvement tools and techniques. (Implement continuous improvement through the CORE framework).
- Establish annual objectives for direct reports, review performance to objectives and take active role in motivating and developing the team for future opportunities
- Conduct small-scale projects, complete ad hoc analysis & other duties as assigned
- Travel to our Miami MRO 3-4 times per year.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years prior relevant experience in accounting or finance or an Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or finance
- Accounting designation CPA (CA, CMA. CGA) in good standing
- 5 years’ experience in people management
- Experience within an ERP environment
- Experience in Microsoft Excel to include pivot table and V-lookups
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in Aerospace Aftermarket / Repair–Overhaul / Manufacturing operations
- Experience with SAP and BI tools
- Experience in a multi-currency environment
Successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP and be eligible to work in Canada.
