Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer in Canada to design, develop, and enhance enterprise-scale mainframe applications. You will work with COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS DB/DC, VSAM, and middleware like XML, SAS, and TIBCO to deliver robust solutions.

You’ll analyze requirements, implement enhancements, perform testing, and support production systems. This hybrid role requires 2 days per week in a Toronto area office with emphasis on high-quality execution.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2 development.
• Hands-on expertise in IMS DB/DC, VSAM, TSO, and Host/Mainframe environments.
• Experience designing and developing complex mainframe applications.
• Proficiency working with XML and enterprise data integration solutions.
• Knowledge of SAS-based applications within a mainframe ecosystem.
• Experience with Mainframe Automation Testing tools and methodologies.
• Familiarity with TIBCO integration technologies and middleware platforms.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-scale mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, IMS, and related mainframe technologies, with a proven ability to support critical business systems, troubleshoot production issues, and deliver high-quality software solutions.

In this role, you will:

Total compensation

The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 71100– CAD 112000 per year.
