About the Role

Our client, a major player in the perishable goods distribution sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Logistics and Supply Chain Manager for their operations in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This strategic role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end supply chain, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of perishable products while maintaining optimal freshness and quality. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cold chain logistics, inventory management, transportation, and warehouse operations. You will lead a team of supply chain professionals, develop and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution of perishable goods.
• Develop and implement strategies to ensure efficient cold chain integrity throughout the supply chain.
• Oversee warehouse operations, including stock management, order fulfillment, and adherence to safety and hygiene standards.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers, carriers, and suppliers to ensure service level agreements are met.
• Lead, train, and mentor the logistics and supply chain team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain operations, reporting on efficiency, cost, and quality metrics.
• Implement and utilize advanced supply chain planning and execution systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including food safety standards and transportation laws.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements across the supply chain.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a significant focus on perishable goods or cold chain operations.
• Proven experience in managing complex supply chains, including international sourcing and distribution if applicable.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS).
• Excellent knowledge of cold chain logistics and best practices for handling temperature-sensitive products.
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements for food products and transportation.
• Experience in the Northern Cape region or its logistical challenges is beneficial.
