Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a server to work in a bright dining room within a retirement residence. You will assist with set-up, serving, and post-service cleanup, contributing to a welcoming mealtime experience for residents and guests.

Preference for individuals with food service experience and senior care exposure; must be able to lift/move heavy items; VPS screening within 6 months is required or can be obtained on hire.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors is preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for the majority of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• Current VPS screening (within 6 months) or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Support orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
