Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Server to join our bright dining room in a retirement residence. The role involves serving meals with care, setting tables, tray service, and assisting with cleaning and safety in a resident-focused environment.

Candidates should have experience in food service and with seniors, strong customer service, and physical stamina for lifting and standing. A second language is an asset; VPS screening may be required.

Qualifications

• Preference for experience in food service and working with seniors
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
• Physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for most of the shift
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset
• VPS clearance within 6 months or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional, courteous manner
• Set and clear dining tables; deliver tray service as needed
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen/dining area
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining area
• Assist with catering and participate in events and special occasions
• Support orientation and training of new culinary staff
• Follow health and safety rules and department procedures
• Adhere to provincial regulations and the Residence policies
• Respect Resident Rights and responsibilities
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required
• Contribute to Quality Improvement Program
• Uphold company ethics, values and code of conduct
• Complete other assigned tasks
