Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Burlington, Canada, is hiring a Server to work in our bright, welcoming dining room. You will assist with set-up, serving, and cleanup as part of our dining services within a retirement residence.

Preference given to those with food service experience and a passion for working with seniors. Must be able to lift, stand for long periods, and may require a VPS. We value exceptional customer service and teamwork.

Qualifications

Experience in food service and with seniors preferred.
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
VPS/Screening within 6 months or willing to obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner;
To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required;
To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery after each dining service;
To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area;
To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events;
To assist in the orientation and training of new culinary employees;
To follow health and safety legislation and department safe job procedures;
To comply with provincial regulations and department policies;
To promote Resident Rights & Responsibilities;
To attend in-service training to better serve residents;
To attend staff meetings to be aware of changes;
To participate in Quality Improvement Program;
To uphold and promote the organization's values and Code of Conduct;
To complete all other tasks as assigned.
