Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a Server to work in our bright and welcoming dining room at a Calgary retirement residence. You will assist with set-up, serve meals, and help with tray service and cleanup to ensure a warm, engaging dining experience for residents and guests.

Preference given to those with food service experience serving seniors, strong customer service skills, and the ability to lift heavy items. Bilingualism is an asset; VPS screening is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Preference for individuals with prior food service experience working with seniors.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is an asset.
• VPS screening within 6 months or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and kitchen/dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
• Respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• Uphold the organization’s Code of Conduct.
