Job summary

Extendicare Canada Inc. is seeking a Recreation Manager to lead the Recreation department with a person-centered approach.

You will guide a team to inspire residents to participate in meaningful activities that support well-being and quality of life, while managing the department's budget. Ideal candidates will have post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy, 2+ years in senior care program planning and strong leadership, communication skills, and familiarity with Activity Pro, Point Click

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation.
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in program planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation in a senior’s care setting.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieving resident and family satisfaction targets.
• Collaborate - Develop, plan, organize and implement resident programs to improve the resident experience.
• Lead, Manage and motivate recreation staff and volunteers to meet department and legislated objectives.
• Maintain departmental budget.
