Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Director of Environmental Services to lead Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance across two care communities in Ontario. The role focuses on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, while aligning operations with the organization’s mission to cultivate happiness in daily life.

The position requires a minimum of two years in management, IPAC/OSHA-style certifications preferred, and strong project and financial management across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• Joint Occupational Health & Safety Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Infection Prevention & Control certification (IPAC Canada) and Ontario Fire Marshal Emergency Management Certification (or provincial equivalent) preferred.
• Proven experience managing environmental services, preferably in long-term care or healthcare.
• Knowledge of housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance best practices.
• Strong operational and project management skills across multiple departments.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and facility management software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage quality assurance and risk management programs to ensure compliance with standards.
• Conduct audits, analyze results, and implement corrective actions to address risks.
• Partner with IPAC Lead to ensure infection prevention, safety and health standards.
• Lead housekeeping, laundry and maintenance teams for efficient operations and compliance.
• Oversee preventative maintenance programs for building systems and safety equipment.
• Coordinate external vendors to ensure service delivery on time and within budget.
• Oversee upkeep of building, equipment and grounds to maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Manage budgets, procurement, expenditures, and supply of resources.
• Lead, mentor and schedule staff; conduct performance evaluations and promote teamwork.
