Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is seeking a Server to join our bright dining room in Alberta. You will serve meals to residents and guests with professionalism, set and clear tables, deliver tray service, and assist with dishware and kitchen cleanliness.

Preference given to those with food service experience and experience with seniors. You’ll work in a team-oriented environment, participate in special events, and help maintain a safe, respectful, and welcoming dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Preference for experience in food service and working with seniors.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current (within 6 months) VPS screening or willingness to obtain one upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service as required.
• Assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• Assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• Assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• Follow health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
• Comply with provincial regulations and department policies and procedures.
• Respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them.
• Attend in-service training to better serve residents.
• Attend staff meetings to be aware of changes in the Residence.
• Participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• Uphold and promote the organization’s Code of Conduct.
