Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking a Server to join our bright dining room and support with set-up, serving, and post-service clean-up for residents and guests. The role emphasizes hospitality, teamwork, and contributing to a warm mealtime experience.

We value prior experience in food service and working with seniors; lifting heavy items is required. A second language is a nice asset, and VPS screening may be required on hire.

Qualifications

• Preference given to those with food service experience and working with seniors.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy/hot items and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset.
• Current (within 6 months) VPS or willingness to obtain one on hire.

Responsibilities

• To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
• To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the end of each dining service.
• To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
• To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events.
• To assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees.
• To follow health and safety legislation and department procedures.
• To comply with provincial regulations and department policies.
• To respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities and promote them.
• To attend in-service training and staff meetings as required.
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
• To uphold the organization’s values and Code of Conduct; and
• To complete all other tasks as assigned.
