Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a part-time server to join our dining team at a retirement residence in Canada. You will help set up dining rooms, service meals, and assist with cleanup to create a welcoming mealtime experience for residents and guests.

Experience in food service with seniors is preferred. The role requires good physical stamina and excellent customer service, with shifts ranging from early mornings to late afternoons. VPS screening will be arranged during hire.

Qualifications

Preference will be given to individuals who have previous experience in the food service industry and working with seniors
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift
Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
Current (within 6 months) VPS or be willing to obtain one upon hire

Responsibilities

To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
To assist with cleaning of dishware and cutlery at the conclusion of each dining service
To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required
To assist with catering and participate in special occasions and theme events
To assist in orientation and training of new culinary employees
To follow health and safety legislation and department safe job procedures
To comply with provincial regulations and department policies
To respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities
