Job summary

Extendicare invites applications for a part-time Dietary Aide to support meal service in our residence. You will help with setup, serving, and clean-up, while maintaining dining area cleanliness and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, good customer service, and the ability to work with seniors, with a requirement for a Food Handler's Certificate and a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Qualifications

• Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
• Preference for experience in food service with seniors.
• Must possess or be enrolled in Food Service Worker Training Program.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy items and stand for long periods.
• Second language is an asset.
• Vulnerable Sector Check (or willingness to obtain) within six months.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals to residents and guests in a professional manner.
• Set up and prepare for service of items such as beverages, salads, and desserts.
• Set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required.
• Assist with cleaning of dishware and maintaining dining area cleanliness.
• Support catering and participate in special events.
• Assist with orientation and training of new dietary staff.
