Job summary

Mountain View Seniors Housing is seeking a dedicated Food Services Supervisor to lead dietary staff in a high-volume retirement residence setting. Under the Site General Manager, you will supervise cooks, plan daily menus, ensure nutrition and dietary restrictions are met, and uphold food safety standards.

Responsibilities include staff training, scheduling, inventory control, and collaboration with other departments to ensure smooth operations and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years supervisory experience in a high-volume food prep environment in a retirement residence, healthcare, or hospitality.
• Must be physically able to perform lifting, bending and repetitive tasks.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
• Food Safety Alberta Certification and WHMIS required.
• Clear and current criminal record check.
• Effective interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage a staff team, including cooks and food services.
• Oversee dietary staff to plan daily food preparation and services.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Create nutritious, diverse menus considering dietary restrictions and special requirements.
• Lead in food preparation, cooking, and serving.
• Train and develop dietary staff; schedule and support.
• Maintain clean and safe work environment, follow health guidelines.
• Monitor inventory and place orders, ensuring cost-efficiency.
• Maintain relationships with vendor partners.
• Address resident inquiries and feedback to maintain satisfaction.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training or corrective actions.
• Collaborate with departments for smooth operations.
