Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Hospitality Manager to lead dining services and housekeeping, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents. You will monitor service delivery, maintain standards, and achievement of resident satisfaction while aligning with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

The role requires coordinating teams, managing budgets, and collaborating with culinary staff to meet dietary needs and preferences, with opportunities to contribute to quality

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year leadership experience in a residential care or mental health environment.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in housekeeping or food services.
• Maintains an active Food Safe certificate.
• CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of Labour and Employment Standards, including union and collective agreements, is an asset.
• Energetic and supportive leader who drives team engagement and morale while consistently leading by example.
• Communicates in a clear, approachable manner with strong written and spoken communication.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with ability to manage priorities.
• Computer literacy and ability to operate all required equipment safely.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, support, guidance and mentorship to the dining room and housekeeping teams.
• Provides oversight and direction to the dining room and housekeeping teams through coordination of work routines.
• Conducts and attends team meetings; serves on committees as applicable.
• Ensures team members comply with all relevant Occupational Health and Safety regulations
• Fosters a positive dining experience that promotes dignity, choice, and comfort for residents.
• Leads the development, implementation, evaluation, and revisions of dining room and housekeeping goals and outcomes.
• Ensures timely and accurate meal service that meets residents’ dietary needs and preferences.
• Collaborates with the culinary team to address special diets, menu changes, and resident feedback.
• Monitors food quality, presentation, and portion control.
• Supports and participates in special events and functions within the community.
• Ensures SDS manuals are available and safety labeling/signage is throughout the building.
