Job summary

Optima Living's Meadowlands in Medicine Hat, AB is seeking a Cook Level II to prepare nutritious meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs, safety standards, and with compassion.

Reporting to the Food Services Manager, you will manage cooking schedules, supervise when needed, and support team with meal service, health and safety compliance, and post-event catering as required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized culinary institute is required.
• Active Food Safe certification is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food using various methods as directed.
• Assembles ingredients and equipment for food preparation.
• Cooks and seasons items to meet dietary needs and nutritional value.
• Plans cooking schedule to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Monitors temperatures and maintains food safety standards.
• Supports other team members and participates in meetings.
