Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Cook Level I to prepare nutritious meals for residents in accordance with dietary needs and safety standards. You will work under the Food Services Manager or Support Services Manager and contribute to the wellness and satisfaction of residents through high-quality, properly prepared food.

Responsibilities include meal preparation, portion control, safety compliance, and assisting with events.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in food preparation, including home-style or restaurant cooking.
• Active Food Safe certification is required.
• Graduate from a recognized culinary institute is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepares food using roasting, frying, grilling, steaming, poaching, boiling, and baking as directed.
• Plans cooking schedule to ensure quality and nutrition.
• Monitors food safety and sanitation practices and maintains records.
• Assists with inventory and supplies management.
• Contributes to resident satisfaction by preparing meals that meet dietary needs.
