Job summary

National Film Board is seeking an experienced Production Coordinator to manage day-to-day operations and logistics across all production stages. You will monitor budgets, schedules, and rights-management, while collaborating with producers to plan scripts and budgets.

With a strong background in documentary production and a robust Manitoba crew network, you will coordinate technical requirements, workflows, and post-production tracking, ensuring timely delivery within set budgets.

Qualifications

  • University degree in film production or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in documentary film production or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of production schedules, budgets, and funding allocations.
  • Experience with post-production workflows and standards.
  • Understanding of Canadian film/TV collective agreements.
  • Strong Manitoba film/television network and crew contacts.
  • Willingness to travel to shoots and meetings.
  • Proficiency in English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate day-to-day production operations across development to delivery.
  • Monitor budgets, stages, schedules, and rights-management processes.
  • Collaborate with producers to analyze scripts and contribute to budget planning.
  • Define technical requirements, liaise with Technical Resources, and set up production workflows.
  • Track production progress and ensure deliverables meet workflows and contracts.
  • Coordinate production calendars, schedules, and team personnel selections.
  • Manage daily operations within budget and schedule constraints.
  • Follow up on rights-management activities and post-production tracking.
