Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a senior risk & governance professional to oversee operational risk for a designated portfolio. You will implement governance frameworks, develop policy standards, and interact with senior leaders to drive compliance and timely action plans.

Extensive knowledge of risk management, regulatory requirements and analytics will be crucial as you influence strategy and lead governance initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• In-depth / expert knowledge of operational risk management practices.
• In-depth / expert knowledge of the designated business / product portfolio.
• In-depth / expert knowledge of regulatory requirements.
• In-depth / expert knowledge of quantitative techniques and economic capital methodologies.
• In-depth / expert knowledge & experience with risk policy frameworks; quality control / testing frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight, monitoring and reporting on operational risks for a designated portfolio.
• Develops and monitors the operational management framework including governance practices across BMO.
• Provides policies, standards, methodologies and controls to increase transparency, accuracy and consistency.
• Interprets new regulations and assesses impacts to the governance framework.
• Leads governance system development & maintains governing body mandates.
• Represents the model validation program for regulatory audits/examinations.
• Leads change management programs and communications strategies.
• Delivers regular and ad-hoc reports and dashboards to stakeholders.
