Job summary

Citibank (Switzerland) AG in Mississauga invites a Senior Java Developer to join the Equities Trading Technology team. You will contribute to the global platform used by Citi traders, focusing on core Java development, high-performance backend services, and integration testing within a hybrid work model.

You will collaborate with business analysts, QA, and platform teams, address security and reliability, and drive modernization initiatives including AI tooling adoption.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of core Java development experience.
• Front-office trading applications experience required.
• Experience with Equities trading platform.
• Familiarity with cloud, containerization (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes) and microservices.
• Proficient in Linux and standard developer tools (Jira, Confluence, Gradle, Maven).
• Ability to rapidly adopt AI tooling as modernization.

Responsibilities

• Engage with Equities Sales and Trading desks to understand requirements and priorities.
• Resolve high-impact problems through evaluation of complex processes.
• Provide expertise in Java applications, ensuring adherence to architecture.
• Collaborate with team to extend functionality and performance.
• Adopt AI toolkits as part of modernization strategy.
• Compute and address hygiene, security, and vulnerability items.
• Design and implement automated integration testing.
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers; allocate work.
• Provide second-line support, including out-of-hours, for developed components.
